This is a pattern of my own design for a men’s cuff down sock pattern with a simple short row heel. The black pair goes to my brother Josh…
and the tan pair goes to my brother Drew. They commissioned these socks for the long days shoveling snow at the bus yard where they work.
This little beauty is another original pattern of mine that I hope to have up in PDF form soon. This shawl took 1 1/2 skeins of Malabrigo that I dyed with my friend Amy. So yummy!
Hello everyone! I am writing from Ocean City, MD on a much needed vacation with my Craig and my in-laws. They have been hunting all week in Delaware, so they decided to surprise us with a sunrise breakfast in an oceanfront hotel about 45 minutes away from their place.
Breakfast was lovely and we really enjoyed spending the morning together 🙂
The start of another new year has kicked my butt in gear when it comes to my life goals. So, after a break for moving my house and the holidays, I am enrolled in school again. I am working towards my Associate’s Degree in Web Development through Kaplan University online. I thank God that I have the ability to go to school online because I don’t know how I would manage it any other way. My first two classes are for Information Technology and Web Design. I was so excited to get into the Web Design class so I can get a feel for what I plan to be doing once I graduate. This is going to be a great year!
This past week marked a momentous occasion in that Craig turned 30 on Monday! His mom and dad came up from Delaware and we spent lots of time all together giving him a hard time 🙂
On Tuesday, his mom and I tagged along with the guys on their mini golf retreat to Sunday River in Bethel, ME. We had stayed here a couple of years ago during the off season to enjoy the wonderful Maine summer. It was beautiful then and just as pretty now.
The view from the balcony off our room at night was beautiful! The highlight of the trip however, was the mam and baby moose that we saw in the hotel parking lot on our way back from dinner. The wildlife around the area are so used to people that we didn’t even faze the moose family as they moved from one grazing spot to the other. This thrilled my in-laws to no end since they had never seen a moose in the six years that they have been coming to Maine.
It was such a beautiful day outside that I decided to walk down to the library and to the park. I admit that I was also looking for an excuse to try out my new baby, a Fujifilm FinePix S700 This is such a nice camera. The pictures are so much clearer than my little point and shoot and the colors are much truer.
The super macro setting is crazy! I have been getting into photography a little bit more and while I didn’t want to spend tons of cash on a digital SLR, I also wanted to have a little more control over the finished photo than my point and shoot offered. This is the perfect compromise. I hope you enjoy the pictures!
